About Us

Keith M. Reagan, MS, PT, ATC

Registered Physical Therapist (WA Lic.:  PT 8422)
Certified Athletic Trainer (N.A.T.A.  089802507)
23 years of experience
Owner of Achieve Physical Therapy

Keith completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physical Therapy, at the University of Central Arkansas, in May 1992.  Shortly thereafter, he started his career with the United States Air Force practicing as a physical therapist at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.  There he gained experience in outpatient orthopedic & post-surgical rehabilitation and taught injury prevention courses.

From 1996 to 1998, he gained a thorough understanding of fall prevention, balance rehabilitation, general conditioning, post-surgical rehabilitation, and geriatric rehabilitation by practicing physical therapy in home healthcare.  Also during this time, Keith completed his certification as an Athletic Trainer by volunteering at high schools in Tucson, AZ and Gainesville, FL.

From 1998 to 1999, Keith completed a Master’s Degree at the University of Florida.  He worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for two different local high schools, overseeing 17 student athletic trainers in 12 sports. He was the Head Athletic trainer for the University of Florida Wheelchair Basketball Club.  He also taught undergraduate Athletic Trainer classes in evaluation, rehabilitation, and basic athletic training skills.

Keith worked for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Corporation in University Place, Washington, from 2001-2005.  During that time, he gained valuable experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, industrial rehabilitation, and balance rehabilitation.  He taught injury management continuing education courses for local-area high school coaches.  He built strong relationships with local physicians, clients, & physical therapists.  Even going through the public relations nightmare and rebuilding process that occurred within HealthSouth, from 2003 to his departure from Healthsouth in 2005, was a constructive learning experience.

On November 25, 2005, Keith went into private practice with a long-time colleague at Advanced Physical Therapy and Balance Rehabilitation as co-owner of the practice.   During the 2004 to 2006 academic years, he served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Pierce College Raiders’ athletic program, which included a trip to the NWAAC Championship Basketball game in 2005.

In 2007, Keith restructured the company and renamed it Achieve Physical Therapy.   Since then he has opened a second location in Gig Harbor, WA where he plans to continue practicing and serving the physicians and clients of Pierce County and the surrounding area.

Julie A. Brewster, MPT

Registered Physical Therapist (WA Lic.:  PT 6017)
22 years of experience

Julie graduated from University of Puget Sound with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy after graduating from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Pre-Physical Therapy.  She worked in an outpatient physical therapy setting, including work hardening and work conditioning, for Good Samaritan Hospital for 3 years.  The next 14 years were spent helping clients in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities to gain optimal functional mobility to return to their greatest level of independence.   Most of her experience is in working with clients with hip and knee replacements, stroke victims, amputees, Parkinson's Disease, balance dysfunctions, and wheelchair needs, including custom fitting & wheelchair recommendations.

Julie joined the Achieve Physical Therapy team, in October 2010, with a desire to treat clients in an outpatient therapy setting after her personal experience with lower back pain and surgery.    Since then, Julie has taken a special interest in integrating postural assessment,  myofascial release techniques, and neuromuscular re-education to restore optimal functional mobility.  She teaches body awareness of posture and movement, strengthening the core, and stabilizing muscles of the body and uses soft tissue techniques to help restore movement of restricted tissues and to improve body mechanics.  Recent coursework includes L.I.F.T Method
Aston Patterning (BodyWorks and Functional Movement Assessment techniques), Myofascial Release with the John Barnes InstituteGordon Brown Treatment of the Low Back, and Gary Gray Functional 3D.

Michael Terry, PTA

Registered Physical Therapist Assistant (WA Lic.:  P1 6036368)
1+ years of experience

Mike joined Achieve Physical Therapy shortly after graduating from Green River Community College.  His thirst for knowledge and understanding of how to best-treat his clients has set him on the right track to being an excellent Physical Therapist Assistant.   He has completed post-graduate training in Muscle Energy Techniques for the neck, back, and pelvis and plans to take courses in Tai Chi as a rehabilitation technique and management of clients who have undergone Total Hip & Knee Arthoplasty, or "Total Knee and Hip Replacement" surgery.

Mike's background  is in carpentry, a field he worked in for 30 years before a work-related injury required that he change career fields.  Between his time working as a carpenter and returning to school to become a PTA, Mike owned his own business selling and installing ergonomics equipment.    A devoted husband and father, he spends his time fixing anything & everything; spending time with his wife, five daughters, and 4 grand daughters; leading a troop of Boy Scouts; and painting.

Mike is available for treatment at the Tacoma location.
